Materials & equipment

Joinery suited to the Luxembourg climate.

We work with joinery manufacturers based in Luxembourg, Belgium and Germany, using products with certified thermal and acoustic performance. The choice of material depends on the look you want, the budget and the aspect.

  • Multi-chamber PVC profiles (5 to 7 chambers) with enhanced insulation
  • Aluminium profiles with thermal break
  • Laminated wood (larch, oak, pine) for traditional joinery
  • Enhanced thermal-insulation glazing Ug ≤ 1.1 (double) or ≤ 0.7 (triple)
  • Roller shutters with refurbishment or tunnel box, wired or radio motors
Frequently asked questions

Your questions about windows.

Double or triple glazing — which to choose in Luxembourg?

For most renovations in Luxembourg, good high-performance double glazing (Ug ≤ 1.1 W/m²K — the lower the U-value, the better the insulation) is enough and offers a good cost-to-performance ratio. Triple glazing (Ug ≈ 0.5 to 0.7 W/m²K) is justified for very high-performance builds (passive, low-energy), north-facing aspects, or when you want maximum acoustic comfort.

Refurbishment fit or full removal?

A refurbishment fit keeps the existing outer frame and screws the new sash to it — quick, clean, but slightly reduces daylight opening. Full removal strips out everything (outer frame included) and recovers the original opening size; it requires reveal repairs and takes longer. We compare both in the quote.

Which material to choose: PVC, aluminium or wood?

PVC: excellent value, minimal maintenance, good insulation. Aluminium: slim profiles, contemporary look, more expensive but durable. Wood: warm appearance, naturally good insulation, requires periodic upkeep (stain every 5 to 10 years). Wood-alu mix: wood inside, aluminium outside — a good compromise.

How long does it take to replace a window?

With a refurbishment fit, allow 2 to 4 hours per standard window, longer for large formats or sliding doors. For a flat with 5 windows, plan on 1 to 2 days depending on access. The home stays liveable — we replace window by window.

Do you also fit shutters and fly screens?

Yes. Roller shutters (manual, electric, solar), hinged shutters, sliding shutters, plus fixed or roll-down fly screens on windows and French doors. Shutters can be fitted at the same time as the windows or added later.

Are there grants for window replacement in Luxembourg?

Yes, several grants exist for energy-efficiency improvements in Luxembourg (programmes such as Klimabonus — the national climate-bonus scheme — and commune-level grants in certain cases), with requirements on the windows' thermal performance. The terms change — we provide the technical details needed to put together your application, to be verified with myenergy (the national energy advice agency) or your commune.
